Importing the federated location definition file

After the BlueCielo Web Service server has been added to the federated location definition file as described in Specifying the BlueCielo Web Service server, you must import the file to make the information available.

To import the federated location definition file:

  1. Open SharePoint Central Administration.
  2. In the left pane, click the name of the Shared Services Provider that you want to configure (for example, SharedServices1).
  3. In the Search group, click Search settings. The Configure Search Settings page appears.
  4. Click Manage Federated Locations. The Manage Federated Locations page appears.
  5. Click Import Location. The Import Federated Location page appears.
  6. Browse to and select the FederatedLocationDefinition.fld file that you edited in Specifying the BlueCielo Web Service server and then click OK to import the file.
  7. After the file has been imported, click Edit Location. The Edit Federated Location page appears.
  8. In the Restrictions and Credentials Information group, select the options described in the following table.

No restriction (All sites can use this location)

Specify Credentials

Kerberos (User credentials are passed automatically). For more information about Kerberos configuration, see Understanding the server security requirements.

  1. Click OK to save your changes.
